The Miracle of the Wedding Band

My husband has been in prison for the past fifteen months. He's on a minimumsecurity unit. The doors aren't locked and there's no barbed wire. He should begoing to a halfway house soon and then he’ll be home on parole.

My husband called and told me that he lost his wedding band outside the prisonwhile shoveling snow last December. My husband loved that wedding band more thananything. We’ve only been married for three years, fifteen months of which wehaven't been together. My husband was afraid to tell me that he lost the weddingband—until today.

“Honey, a miracle has just happened,” he said excitedly.“I didn't want to tellyou, but back in December when I was shoveling snow here at night, I lost mywedding band. I was so upset that I didn't want to tell you. A little while ago,though, I was walking outside and I heard someone calling my name. I turnedaround, and an inmate asked me if I’d lost my wedding band. I told him yes. Theinmate said,‘I just found your wedding band in the soil, near the bushes, when Iwas doing the garden work. It was there, clear as day, laying in the soil.’”

“I was still in a state of shock. It was five months later that the ring cameback to me. For five months, that ring lay outside near the bushes and here itis spring and it came back to me.”

My husband and I always have faith in the Lord that things will go okayregarding his imprisonment and that he’ll go to the halfway house soon.

However,our faith has been tested. The miraculous part of the story is thatearlier in the morning of the ring being found, my husband had told the Lordthat he was going to stop praying to Him because things were not going the wayhe wanted and he felt that Jesus had abandoned him. When the ring was found, myhusband knew this was a sign from the Lord. He was telling us not to lose faith,to hang in there a little longer, and to never doubt Him. With the return of thewedding band, our faith in God has once again been restored.

我和丈夫总是笃信上帝，有关监禁之事会处理好的，他不久会回到重返社会训练所。然而验证了我们的信念。不可思议的就是一大早找到了戒指，我丈夫对上帝说他不会停止向他祷告，因为事情没有他想象的那么好，他认为耶稣抛弃了他。戒指一找到，我丈夫就意识到这是来自上帝的招呼。他在对我们说不要放弃信仰，不要再犹豫，不要怀疑他。由于结婚戒指的复得，我们又恢复了信仰。
