Wang Yang: Now we are arriving at Tian'anmen Square.Have you ever beenhere before?

Kevin: No,this is my first time in Beijing,so it's my first time to see such a magnificentsquare.

Wang Yang: The total area is 440,000 square meters and it is the largestsquare in the world today.The square contains two museums,andit was completed within 10 months between 1958 and 1959.

Kevin: Such a splendid building completed in only 10 months?It's really remarkable!

Wang Yang: Today we may go to the Palace Museum later.Now,let's walk on.This is the Monument to the People's Heroes.It was completed in1958.On its north face are inscribed eight Chinese characters inthe calligraphy of China's late Chairman Mao.

Kevin: Wow,it's really a stately structure.

汪洋：我们到天安门广场了，你以前来过吗?

凯文：没有，这是我第一次来北京，也是第一次见到这么雄伟的广场。

汪洋：它的总面积为440 000 平方米，是目前世界上较大的广场，天安门广场有两个博物馆，是1958 至1959年间10 个月内建成的。

凯文：这么宏大的建筑仅用了10 个月就建成了，真是了不起。

汪洋：今天我们将去故宫博物院。我们继续往前走。这是人民英雄纪念碑，建于1958年。碑的北面刻着的8 个字是已故的毛主席的亲笔手书。
