B:Nice to meet you,Mr.Wang.My purpose of coming here is to ask you to open a letter of credit for my company.

A:Well,what kind of L/C,please?

B:We have just concluded a transaction.We'll import three textile machines from Japan.The Japanese party requires a confirmed,irrevocable L/G at sight.

A:I see.What's the total amount of the contract?

B:It's five million Renminbi yuan.

A:That's a large sum.But since you're a joint venture of some scale,you may have that sum,I think.

B:However,we don't have so large a sum on our account with your bank.Can you give us some credit?

A:Well,you may be required to offer some mortgage.

B:No problem.

A:Another solution is that you transfer some money on other accounts to the account you have with us.

B:That is a solution,but I think we would prefer to provide some mortgage.By the way,if you have opened the L/C for us,and we want to change some terms,for instance,the time of delivery,the documents required,can we amend it?Are the formalities complicated?
