A:What should we do when we find a shortage in the shipment?

B:You could do one of two things:you could lodge a claim with the shipowner or with the insurance company.

A:Do brokers take care of that?

B:Yes,they usually do.

A:Do they charge for that?

B:Yes,In Europe they charge a commission of one percent of the amount of the claim for their collecting services.

A:How about in the United States?

B:They do the work without charge to the importer.
