A：Mr.Taylor,please sit here.This is our traditional seat for the guest of honour.

B：Don't tell me I'm the guest of honour this evening.

A：Precisely so.

B：I'm very honoured to be given so much attention.But I'm really a bit nervous.

A：Would you like to use the chopsticks or the fork and knife?

B：When you are in China,do as the Chinese do.I'll take the chopsticks and learn the art.

A：Don't worry about that.I'll be your tutor.And just in case,there are still the fork and knife to resort to.

B：Well,I must warn you beforehand,I'm not much of a bright student.You must be patient with me.

A：Well,Mr.Taylor,what would you have for a drink? Rice wine or Maotai?

B：I think I will have the famous Maotai.I know it is one of the best liquors in the world.

A：MaotaI'doesn t go to the head as most liquors do.

B：How nice.

A：Mr.Taylor,to our friendship and to your health.

B：To your health,and to the health of all the gentlemen present.

祝酒

甲：泰勒先生，请坐这儿。这是我国传统的贵宾席。

乙：不敢相信我竟是今晚的贵宾。

甲：正是如此。

乙：你们这样尊敬我，我感到很荣幸，但又感到有点儿紧张。

甲：您喜欢用筷子，还是用刀叉?

甲：别担心。我来当您的老师，万一不行，还可以用刀叉。

乙：不过我得事先告诉您，我可不是聪明的学生，您得耐心些。

甲：泰勒先生，您喝什么酒?黄酒还是茅台?

乙：我想喝点儿有名的茅台，我知道那是世界名酒。

甲：茅台不像别的酒，喝了不头晕。

乙：那太好了。
