A Wonderful Lady

I was seventeen years old and a single mother working for minimum wage when Ifirst met my friend. I was really struggling just to get by. She took me underher wing and helped me any way she could. If not for her, my son and I would’vegone hungry many a time.

One year we had a really bad winter and my son had outgrown his coat. My friendbought him a coat and said it was a Christmas present and wouldn't hear of mepaying her back. It was just many of the wonderful things she did for me.

Later I met and married a wonderful man and life is a whole lot better for me.

My friend and I have remained close after all this time. She's in her ninetiesnow and lives alone. We talk to each other several times a week and get togetherwhen we can. My friend showed me what a true Christian is and I'm thankful everyday that the Lord gave me such a wonderful friend.
