Finn：Here we are.This is the well-know the Summer Palace.

Lee：I‘ve heard about it,and I’ve read a book about its history.

Finn：It was an ancient one dating back to 1000 years ago.

Lee：1000years ago?No way.From this book,it was just 245 years old.

Finn：Thats the whole history of the summer palace.

Lee：Is it for its whole history?

Finn：Yeah.During Jin dynasty,there isnt any palace here.There is only a hill and lake around this place.Then it was first built as an imperial garden at the beginning of 12th century by King of Jin.

Lee：Wow.Does that imperial garden still exist now?

Finn：Yes,I guess so.Today we can see this palace was built in the Qing Dynasty.

Lee：I know this part.The Summer Palace was first finished in 1153 and served as an imperial palace for short stays away from the capital.Empress Dowager Ci Xi rebuilt it in 1888 with a large sum of money which had been appropriated to build a Chinese navy.

Finn：Yeah,but the construction continued to the Yuan and Ming dynasties.In the Qing Dynasty,the building of imperial gardens reached its culmination.

Lee：Thats a wonder of the world.

Finn：The Summer Palace was approved as the world cultural heritage in 1987.

Lee：That got me wondering,I really want to see it with my eyes.

Finn：Why not?Lets go.

Lee：Bravo!

芬妮：它可以追溯回1000年以前。

李：它的全史?

芬妮：是呀，在金代，这里还没有什么宫殿，周边只有一座小山和湖泊。之后在12世纪时，由一位金王第一次修建了一个皇家花园。

李：哇哦，这个花园还在吗?

芬妮：是呀，我猜是吧。今天我们看到的这豪华的宫殿修建于清朝。

李：我知道这部分。现在宫殿是在1153年正式修建的，作为皇帝避暑的宫殿，之后在1888年由慈禧太后挪用海军军费重建的。

芬妮：是呀，这个宫殿是继承金代宫殿之后由元和明两朝的继续修善，再到清朝到达了鼎盛。

李：真是世界的奇观呀。

芬妮：颐和园在1987申遗成功。

李：这些太让我惊奇了。我真想要亲眼目睹。

芬妮：为什么不呢?我们走吧。
