A: China and India have many things in common, for example, culture, history, population and so on.

B: That’s right. China and India are the only two countries in the world with the oldest civilizations dating back over five thousand years.

A: The geographical distribution of land in China consists of mostly plateaus and mountains in the west and lower lands in the east. Rivers like the ‘Yangtze’ flow from west to east, ‘Huang He’ or yellow river in the north-central and the ‘Amur’ in the northeast. The southern rivers like ‘Pearl river’ and ‘Mekong’ flow into the Pacific ocean. The ‘Gobi Desert’ has been expanding over time. Mountains, fertile lands, beaches, rivers, lakes all abound in China.

B: In India The ‘Himalayan’ Mountain range in the north is the highest in the world. There are many picturesque hill stations in these mountains frequented by tourists from all over the world. The rivers like Ganga, Yamuna and Brahmaputra in the north are revered while Krishna, Kaveri, Godavari in the south are also important for agricultural purposes. The Thar desert in Rajasthan state along with the Ranthambore wild life park are well travelled tourist places. Apart from this beaches in the south along Mumbai, Chennai and Goa are famous.
