A:Good morning,Mr.Smith.How are you getting along?

B:Not bad.How about you?

A:We had a hard time since we accepted your order,I mean,in a financial sense.You know the financial capability of our company is rather limited,and a large order like yours really invloved a large amount of money.

B:I think our 30% advance payment will solve some problems.

A:To be frank with you,it is helpful to some extent.But finally we had to apply to the Bank of China for shortterm loan.So you must know the reason why I am here.As stipulated,we should get the balance of the total value three months after installation and normal operation of our equipment.Now it is the fourth month.

B:Sorry for delay in payment.The reason is that just a few days ago,we found some of the parts and components were defective and we asked the Import and Export Dept.to send some spare parts.And we also want to purchase a large number of accessories for future use.

A:You should contact our AfterSale Service Dept.,which is responsible for such things.

B:I believe I/E Dept.will pass on our requirements.But we haven t got any news up to now.

A:Such being the case,you mean to make two payments as one?

B:Yes,it won t take too much time,I believe.

A:I d better phone back to consult our manager.

B:Please be sure to tell them to rush the delivery of spare parts so that you can get your full payment together.

A:I ll take care.

B:Can I have your reply this afternoon?

A:I ll inform you not later than next morning,OK?

B:OK,the earlier the better.

要求支付款项

甲:早上好!史密斯先生。一切都好吗?

乙:还可以。你呢?

甲:自从接了你们的订单以后，我们有过一段苦日子，我是说在财务上。你知道我们公司的资金能力十分有限，做你们这样的大订单确实需要许多钱。

乙:那么，我们30%的预付款应该会帮你们解决了一定困难的。

甲:坦率地讲，只解决了一部分问题。我们最终不得不向中国银行申请短期贷款来周转。想必你已经知道我此行的目的了。按规定，我们应该在设备安装并正常运行三个月后得到余下的款项，现在已是第四个月了。

乙:抱歉未能及时付款。原因是，就在几天前，我们发现设备中的一些零部件有缺陷，就要求你们的进出口部门发来更换件，并想再购买大量的辅件以备将来之需。

甲:你应该与售后服务部联系，他们负责此类事情。

乙:我想进出口部会将我们的需求转告他们的。但是至今仍未收到任何消息。

甲:既然如此，你想将两笔付款合二为一，对吗?

乙:正是，我想不会等太长时间的。

甲:我得打电话请示经理。

乙:请一定转告他们早日寄来更换件，这样就可以得到全部货款了。

甲:我会的。
