Mrs.Jones: That's very kind of you.By the way,is it a formal one?

Brenda: Yes,very formal.Some of the officials from the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Economic Co-operation will be there too.

Mrs.Jones: I see. Thank you for telling me that. Since this is the first time for me to attend such a formal banquet in Canada,I feel a little bit confused about what to wear. Brenda, is there any particular requirement for dressing tonight?

Brenda: They didn't mention that butsince it is a very formal, it is quite usual for ladies to wear evening dresses or banquet dresses.I remembered asking you to prepare such dresses before our leaving, didn't I?

Mrs.Jones: Yes,but you know woman's cheongsam is my favorite and I brought two of them.I wonder if I can wear it to the banquet tonight.

Brenda: As the banquet tonight has no particular requirement for dressing, you can wear your favorite.Men are usually required to wear suitsinstead.
