I Was Late for a Meeting

A:Hello.Northeast Air.

B:Hello.This is John Smith of International Office Equipment.I d like to speak to the Office Manager.

A:Hold the line,please.I ll see if Ms.Liu is in...Go ahead,Ms.Liu can take your call.

B:Hello,Ms.Liu. This is Jahn Smith of International Office Equipment.I m afraid I have to make a serious complaint.

C:Hello,Mr.Smith.What seems to be the trouble?

B:I ve been flying Northeast Air for nearly five years,Ms.Liu,and I must say that I have always been very satisfied with the service,but last Tuesday something happened which was inexcusable.

C:Can you give me the details,Mr.Smith?

B:Yes,I was scheduled on Flight 703from Washington to New York with a connection flight out of New York to Boston the same morning.Your flight agent,Mr.Brown,assured me that I would have plenty of time to catch the plane to Boston.However,it was impossible to make that connection and,as a result,I was late for a very important business meeting.

C:I m very sorry to hear that,Mr.Smith.I can assure you that such things don t happen very often.

B:I hope not.What do you intend to do about this,Ms.Liu?

C:I ll look into the matter for you,Mr.Smith,and talk to the person responsible for this mistake.

B:All right,then.

C:Thanks for calling,Mr.Smith.If you have any further questions about exact flight schedules,don t hesitate to contact me direct.

B:I ll do that,Ms Liu.Goodbye.

C:Goodbye,Mr.Smith.
