Robert: Mr. Jones, I'd like to take this opportunity to discuss with you about a little proposal.

Mr.Jones: I'm glad when people have new ideas around here.Just tell me about it.

Robert: It's about this meeting, the staff meeting. You know, we have the meeting every Tuesday.

Mr.Jones: So,what's the point?

Robert: Well,I have been thinking about it.And I believe we could do things more efficiently here.

Mr.Jones: what do you suggest?

Robert: The way we adopt now is that the staff from all four branches get together for one-hour meeting once a week.In my opinion,a lot of time is wasted in transportation.

Mr.Jones: You mean because people have to go across town to get here.

Robert: Yes.Some people spend half of the morning on the road.

Mr.Jones: That's true.But our staff meeting are very important,Robert.I don't know how we can function without them.

Robert: I think they are very import too. That's why I want people to have a better attitude about them. Here's what I propose, I think we should meet once every two weeks,but meet for ninety minutes or more.And I also think the meetings should be more focused.

Mr.Jones: Well, it sounds a good idea. How about others? I'd like to know your opinion on the proposal.

Frank:Well, I am not against the idea.Our staff meetings do need to improve the efficiency.

Mr.Jones: OK,Why don't we try the proposal for a month,and see how it works.

琼斯先生：没有错。但我们的员工大会是很重要的，罗伯特。我不知道没有这个会议，我们如何能运作。

罗伯特：我也认为这很重要。那就是为什么我要大家对会谈能有更好的态度。这是我的建议：我认为我们应该每2周开1次会，但1次开90分钟或是加长，而同时我也认为议题应更明确。

琼斯先生：这听起来是个不错的主意。其他人呢?我想听听你们对这项提议的意见。

弗兰克：我不反对这一提议。我们的员工大会确实需要提高效率了。

琼斯先生：既然样，我们就先试行这一提案1个月，然后再看成效。
