Cancelling a meeting

Linda：I’m truly sorry about this， but we are going to have to cancel the meeting in the afternoon.

Jackson：That can’t be! You know fully well how important it is. You gave me the green light just yesterday.

Linda：I know. But there’s really nothing that can be done about it. The AV equipment has been damaged and can’t be fixed on such short notice.

Jackson：Mr. Baker is going to hit the roof when he hears about it. This is a big order.

Linda：I’ve told all departments of the cancellation and rescheduled with the client for Thursday.

Jackson：I’d better call the client again myself and try to obtain their forgiveness.1

Linda： I know you don’t want to do this right now， but Mr. Baker will be out of the office this afternoon. You’ll have to tell him this morning.

Jackson： Oh， really If that， I will go to tell him right now. Wish me luck.
