Park/public garden

Are there many parks or public gardens whereyou live (or, in your hometown)?

Do you often/ ever go to a park or a (public)garden?

When do people go there?

Do you think parks and public gardens areimportant to a city? (Why?/ Whynot?)

1. Are there many parks or public gardens where you live (or, in yourhometown)?

I guess there are, there are many parks and publicgardens in my hometown, like Xuan Wu park, Mo chou park, and I think the biggest and themost beautiful one is Xuan Wu park, people can do all sorts of things in the park, like jogging, taking a walk, boating and things like these. It’s pretty fun for all ages of people.

2. Do you often/ ever go to a park or a (public) garden?

trend 趋势

jog 慢跑walk my dog 遛狗

Idefinitely often go to a park and/or gardens, the most common thing I would do is to jog there, take a walk after meal since it’s a trend now or just walk my dog in the gardens, so I wouldspend an hour or two in the park/garden everyday.

I don’t like to go to the park or public garden so often, since the park orpublic garden nowadays are full of people, mostly elderlies do square dancing there, so I thinkthe park’s environment is not as good as I thought it would be.

3. When do people go there?

这个问题还是比较大的,所以大家可以把人群分类:游客:the tourists from other cities would gothere on public holidays, coz the public gardens and parks are tourist attractions, so peoplewould go to the parks and gardens to see the natural scenery and get the city’s vibe.

老年人:most of the elderly people would spend one hour or two in the early morning orafter dinner in the park and public gardens to exercise and do square dancing.

年轻人:as for the most young people, there is a trend for health-keeping and exercisenowadays, so a lot of young people would choose to jog in the evening, maybe around 8-9pm atnight.

4. Do you think parks and public gardens are important to a city? (Why?/ Whynot?)

这道题还是从正面角度去描述会比较方便:作为城市的风景 as the attractive sceneries of the city作为人们的聚集地 community gather in the parks and gardens作为环保的地域也有好处 green spacesare of great part of the park and public gardens, somehow are beneficial to the environment.Well, I think parks and public gardens are important to a city, as the attractive sceneries of thecity, they represent the city and when tourists see the breathtaking views of gardens, theydefinitely will think highly of the city, besides, as they are the places for the community togather together, for the kids to play in, for the family to have picnic and BBQs in.so…

范文

The park I visited and really liked when I was young is about five-minute walk from my home. Situated in the center of my community, it is actually a recreation place for all citizens living nearby. If you ever go around the blocks there, you won’t miss this park, because it is always packed with people.

The park, covering just a small area, is yet thickly wooded, with a lot of trees over a hundred years old. It is just fascinating to see that such a ‘tiny’ park could accommodate a beautiful lush green meadow, which I think, is probably the most refreshing part of the park. In fact, the park has several different looks at different seasons of a year, and it surpasses itself in beauty when spring comes because the blossoms of multicolored flowers are so stunning to see.

Since the first day I moved to this block with my family at the age of 12, we have made it our habit to go strolling after dinner in the park every day. The tranquil and peaceful environment in the park really is a good refresher for someone who has just lived through another tiring day of school, like me. As dusk arrives, street lights turn on, and the air gets quite cozy too. Here, let me paint a picture for you. You stroll along a path in a quiet park, enjoying the shading sunlight in sight and having a pleasant chat with your loved ones. Trust me, this is definitely going to wash away your tension and pressure.

Well, to be honest, I am not that type of people who are really into visiting parks, but it couldn’t have been better for someone who has survived yet another tiring day, like me, to take a walk in a peaceful park after dinner. Strolling along the garden-like walkways and appreciating the picturesque views with gentle breezes touching your cheeks is something highly enjoyable. Well, if you get lucky, you might even get to see how the sunset glow gradually tints the sky red. With all these beautiful park views in mind, my memories about it will always be peaceful and warm.

Describe a park/garden you like visiting

You should say:

Where the park/garden is

When you visit it

What the park/garden is like

And explain why you like visiting it

A park that I enjoyed visiting is the park of Tuanjie Lake, which is a pretty and tranquil (宁静的) park located in central Beijing. Last summer holiday, I applied for an internship in a marketing company, and was luckily accepted. During my 2 month stay in Beijing for the internship, I was quite unprepared and once failed to adopt to the work pace in the company. Having studied in university for almost three years without any practical experience, I found real-life work within a large corporation to be stressful and difficult. Well, such stressfulness came to an end one day, when I found a very peaceful park named the Tuanjie Lake Park, which is just adjacent to the central business district (中央商务区) of Beijing, an area in which my company was located in. After this great discovery, I came to that park almost daily, during the noon break when I finished lunch. The park was hidden in the corner of the CBD area, surrounded by several office buildings. As you could imagine, it wasn’t a large park, but I did enjoy its unique peace. Located right in the buzzing center of Beijing, the park is blessed with (享有,拟人手法) a sizable lake, a lush forest, and a bunch of elders who always play Tai Chi making the park a casual and refreshing place. I did enjoy visiting it because it offered me a precious opportunity to relax and become better prepared for a busy afternoon.
